Most people spend many years of their adult lives searching for the perfect beauty tips, tricks, and products, and eventually formulate a routine that works well for them. But just because you have a beauty repertoire that works doesn’t mean it can’t still be evolving and changing that it’s even better!
Just like with any other industry, as the years go by there are constantly new adventures in the beauty world and you never know what might help you up your game! If something can make your skin glow, hair shine, or saves you a few minutes every morning, it’s definitely worth trying. Here are 5 things you should add to your beauty repertoire.
Travel Cases
By now if you’ve been collecting beauty products for your entire adult life you probably have quite a few. Therefore it’s a smart idea to have a few travel cases in different sizes so that they’re easier to take with you, even on a whim! If you have a beauty routine that works well for you, you won’t even want to go a day without it. So travel essentials need to be picked in a smart and effective way. They make lots of different types of cases – large, small, hard plastic, soft cloth – find one that will fit everything you need and is easy to carry with you. Not only will this make your life easier when traveling, but it will also make moving to a new home a total breeze.
Oils
Skin and hair oils are having a moment right now, and with good reason. When you were younger you were probably told that oily skin was unattractive and you were always trying to use products that would mattify your skin. People eventually realized, however, that dewy, glowy skin is actually much healthier and that became the beauty standard.
Now you probably want to add oil to your skin rather than remove it. There are many great oils out there so try a few out to find one that’s best for you and replace your moisturizer with it for an all day glow. You can even put a few drops in your hair for extra shine!
Dry Shampoo
You likely know by now that it is not super healthy for your hair to wash it on a daily basis. Your scalp produces natural oils, and needs at least a few days in between washes in order to properly work its magic. But sometimes these natural oils can make your hair look oily and drab and this may be less than desirable.
The answer to all of your problems is dry shampoo. It’s basically exactly what it sounds like – a powder-like substance that you can either dust onto or spray onto your hair to make it look just-washed without ever getting it wet or removing those healthy oils. Your scalp will thank you and it will save you time getting ready. Plus, you can make your own out of baby powder to save a little money.
