Ah, the summer. A wonderful, much-needed break from college or university; a blissful period of time where you can catch up with friends and family, enjoy the sunshine and recharge your batteries. Summer is wonderful, we can all agree, but dare we say… it can sometimes become, a little, boring? The sun isn’t always shining, friends are sometimes busy and, well, there’s only so much Netflix bingeing one can take. If you’re looking for a little inspiration on how to make your summer unforgettable, let us lead the way.
1. Seek Some Thrills
If the weather is good (but not too good), check out your nearest amusement park. Avoid days where the forecast is glorious, as unfortunately the sun shining = long queues, most of the time. Try out a day where there is a little rain forecast. Grinning and bearing half an hour of drizzle should be worth it for those shorter queues on your favourite thrilling rollercoaster.
2. Get Lucky
Do you feel like luck might be on your side? Then use it to your advantage and head to a nearby casino. Don’t fancy going out? Then browse the excellent slots and casino games at a leading spin bonus Always gamble responsibly (that means setting your budget and sticking to it!). Spinning the reels of slot machines or partaking in a little Roulette is always a thrilling pastime.
3. Go Camping
Love the outdoors? Summer is the perfect time to pitch that tent. It doesn’t even have to be a great distance away; even a night of camping in your back garden can be plenty of fun! If you fancy a change of scenery however, choose your location wisely and ensure utilities are close to hand. Camping is an excellent way to get back to nature and enjoy a beer or two with friends.
4. Do a Marathon
Not that kind of marathon. Well, unless you want to, that is. We’re talking about the lazy kind… a movie marathon. The perfect choice for rainy days, when you’ve watched everything that looks half-decent on Netflix. Dig out those old DVDs, grab your favourite indulgent snacks and drinks and set off on your own big screen marathon. Get friends round, or enjoy it solo!
5. Tend to the Garden
Gardening is renowned for being therapeutic and providing an excellent boost to your mental health. If you haven’t tried it before, just give it a go; even if you think you’ll find it boring, you might be surprised. Choose a sunlit spot for some beautiful flowers, or get your very own garden veg patch on the go. Hugely rewarding and a great mood booster.
6. Hit the Beach
If you’re lucky enough to live quite close to a beach then we probably don’t need to tell you this. But perhaps you can head to a beach that’s just an hour or two away. Pack your towel, a picnic, sun cream and hat, and away you go. Take a few friends, or go alone with a brilliant summer read. Either way, you can’t beat the beach on a beautiful summer’s day.
