Even today, many women conceive naturally without undergoing any medication. Some women undergo scanning tests and then undertake some medications or undergo minor surgeries and then conceive. But, some women do not conceive even after taking some medications. So, they choose different methods such as IVF.
Today, usually pregnancy tests are conducted at home. A strip is used to access if a woman is negative. Usually, a part of the urine is inserted into the stripe. Then, when the stripe shows a red line that is prominent. Then, a woman is considered pregnant. But these stripes may sometimes reveal a negative indication also.
When, a woman begins to experience symptoms such as nausea, morning illness, fatigue, illness etc, then a woman feels that she is pregnant. She may also miss her menstrual cycle. But, sometimes, when a woman uses the pregnancy stripe, that device may reveal that she is not pregnant. Then, the women are surprised to know the first response false negative results. She should consult a gynecologist and find out if she is pregnant or not. The reason for skipped period may be due to other gynecological problems also. Or the device may not be functioning well.
The homemade pregnancy tests may not always produce accurate results. These tests are based on anecdotal evidence. The home kits usually measure the human chorionic gonadotropin level in the urine. But, only the Hcg level cannot determine if the woman is pregnant. The tests performed by the laboratory, not only measure the Hcg level but determine the amount of other factors. In pregnancy after every 2 to 3 days, levels of various components change. Some of the tests even reveal the date of conception and also detect certain problems during pregnancy.
The pregnancy tests performed at home are not as accurate as the pregnancy tests performed by the child. Sometimes, a woman uses the pregnancy test as soon as she experiences nausea, vomiting, morning illness etc. But the level of HCG can be detected after two weeks after pregnancy. so, when the woman conducts the test, the Hcg level has not reached to the optimum level. So, the results produced may not be accurate.
The egg should be actually fertilized by the sperm. When the drop of urine falls on the stripe, then it processes on the stripe. The woman should wait for 2 minutes to obtain the results. As some women are impatient, they think that the device is not yielding accurate results.
A woman should not become disappointed to find the first response negative test because the device may not function properly. A woman should use a stripe that is approved by FDA and should follow the instructions that are mentioned on the kit. The date of expiration also should be checked and they should be carefully stored. The test should be conducted 15 days after the date of menstrual cycle. This test should be conducted during the early morning hours when the woman has not yet urinated. A woman should use a dipstick or test strip to conduct the test.
The home-based tests may provide accurate results if the woman follows the instructions carefully. Even after the test, she is doubtful, and then she should consult doctor.
