Autumn is a very special time. The leaves change from colors from green to brown, red, and yellow, and the whole world gets a a golden glow. The world lights up in a very special way, and it is as if the sun plays an even greater role than at any other time during the summer. It’s the season where we must enjoy the last sunlight before we face a darker season. Autumn is thus an opportunity to enjoy the last portion of nature to the fullest. You can get lucky and experience dry and sunny days in the autumn; many will probably be able to nod in recognition that autumn often also consists of rain.
But Danes are used to rain, and are mostly good at putting on practical clothes, so we do not get too wet during a bike ride through Copenhagen’s inner city. Making sure to get waterproof clothes on before leaving your house can help to improve the mood significantly during the autumn. For there is nothing worse than being soaked by the rain. But on the days when the rain appears as ‘never-ending’, there is nothing wrong with staying indoors. For the indoor coziness is also a big part of the season. Then you have the opportunity to baking an apple pie with the apples from the garden, slicing pumpkins, making chestnut figures or just watching a good movie on the couch. You can spend time indoors with your family and friends by playing games or cooking together. There is absolutely nothing better than having fun with those you love. Autumn is a wonderful time of year and it’s just about creating some good memories.
