This achievement rests with Jiangxi Bakery Association from Zixi, China. The historical date was 7th May, 2018 and the flavour was fruit cake. With dimensions of 12.2 cm height, 10.4 cm width and 3188.62 m length, this bake took the hard work of 60 cake makers and 120 assistants toiling for 23 hours during International Tourism Festival.
2. Layers Upon Layers
This record was set by The Watkins Co. (USA) in Winona, Minnesota, USA, on 14 September 2018 when they incorporated 260 layers in a single cake. The baked cake was 6 foot 1 inch tall and weighed 1250 lbs. It was cut in 5000 individual servings.
3. A Wish For Long Life
It is a belief that candles on a cake represent the number of years the person has spent on this beautiful planet and when a person blow candles off during a cake cut ceremony, it is considered a wish for long life. Imagine how many candles you could put on a cake? Well, the record is set on 72,585 candles. This was achieved by Ashrita Furman and the Sri Chinmoy Centre on 27 August, 2016. The cake was baked in the honour of meditation teacher Shri Chinmoy, on what would have been 85th birthday.
4. The Sweetest Wedding, Of Course!
The largest wedding cake was baked by chefs at the Mohegan Sun Hotel and Casino, Uncasville, Connecticut, USA which weighed 6.818 tonnes when fully prepared. It was displayed on their bridal showcase on 8th February, 2004.
5. Cupcake Bonanza
Who doesn’t love cupcakes! Taking this love over and beyond, Georgetown Cupcake (USA) in Sterling, Virginia, USA, baked a cupcake weighing 1176.6 kgs on 2nd November, 2011. The cupcake was 56 inches in diameter and 36 inches tall.
6. Teeny Tiny Treat
The record of baking World’s Smallest Cake rests with Sweet Love Bakery. This tiny delicacy is just 1.25 cm tall and weighs 90 grams. The intricate craft consists of three tiers and was prepared on April 9, 2013.
