The Sims 4 is an awesome game that gives you total control over the life of your “Sim.” You can create their look and personality, build their home, and help them make friends, lovers, and even enemies. You can also give them hobbies, send them on holidays, and make them learn unique skills as simple as fixing the pipes or doing a water heater installation to mastering archaeology and learning rocket science.
But even with so much to do, the game can eventually become boring and repetitive. You would feel like you’ve done everything you could to and for your Sim. But that shouldn’t be the reason you stop playing. Sometimes, you need to take some new, clever, and creative ideas to make the game exciting again.
To get you started, here’s a list of things to do when you want to put a new spin on your Sims gameplay.
Download a family and start a new story with them
Many users are creative in building new Sims-some can even recreate the look of celebrities like Ariana Grande, Cristiano Ronaldo, and K-Pop girl group Blackpink. They can also build great-looking families. Go to the gallery, download a family with looks and personalities you like, and start a new story with them. This comes with a challenge as user-created Sims have their unique personalities, skills, and careers. Find a way to make a growing family of four thrive in a small coastal home in a beach town like Sulani.
Recreate yourself and your friends and live out the life you’ve all dreamed of
Creating yourself in the game means you can live vicariously through your Sim. You can get your dream job, ideal hobbies, and even dream spouse-without any real-life obstacles and consequences. You can do the same for you and your friends. Recreate them in the gameplay. Help them get their dream career, learn skills and hobbies they wouldn’t have the time to do in real life, and find a romantic partner.
Recreate your favorite TV show or movie
Are you a fan of the TV show “Friends” or “Game of Thrones”? Why don’t you recreate its cast, set, and story in The Sims 4? Have fun playing a town where Rachel, Ross, Joey, Phoebe, Monica, and Chandler can recreate their stories and friendships. You can also put a twist on the show. For instance, it may be a bit hard to recreate Westeros in The Sims 4, so why don’t you let Daenerys and Jon live in the suburbs?
Make a household full of toddlers
This is also called the daycare challenge: create a family with one or two adults and six or seven toddlers. Plop them down in a house, and you’ll surely have a challenge taking care of all of them. Imagine buying a bunch of potty chairs and toddler-sized beds and feeding them all during lunchtime.
Experiment with death
There are a few death-related elements in The Sims 4 that you can play around with. One of which is death by embarrassment. When your Sim has done too many humiliating things in a short period, such as saying something inappropriate and peeing in front of everybody, they can die from being mortified. But you can beg the Grim Reaper for mercy to spare your life. If that doesn’t work, you can resurrect your Sim with a book. If your Sim reaches the highest career level as a writer and bestselling author, they can write a living Sim’s Epic Saga. And when they die, that book can be used to bring them back from the dead.
The Sims 4 is packed with all kinds of exciting things for players to do. But not all of these are in plain sight-you have to discover them by taking on a challenge or experimenting with gameplay elements
