Barcelona is the city of Gaudi and urban beaches. In the years it has rightfully earned a space among the best tourist destinations you can go to. Not only do you get to enjoy the great Catalan cuisine, but you also get to indulge in the specific Spanish traditions that have made the city famous over the years.

Plus, traveling to Barcelona is a breeze, try and find a hotel in Barcelona that suits your needs, and get moving. With international tourism being one of the main reasons for people visiting the city, you’ll never be lacking for company. To sweeten the deal, here are some of the places you need to visit in Barcelona.

1. Sagrada Familia

The Sagrada Familia is one of the most important monuments in Barcelona. One of the masterpieces of Gaudi, this monument was a massive scale project that has been running for over 140 years now. Filled with the architectural styles of the region, you will be filled with the promise of the tallest church spires in the world all in their Catalan magnificence.
The monument has been under works for years now, and it has become a significant part of the famous Catalan imagery. With the whole area being filled with different architectural fusions, you’ll have many photo opportunities, and experiences.

2. Eat the food

Traveling to a Catalonian territory and missing their cuisine should be seen as a National offense. Filled with a slew of restaurants (Barcelona has a total of 20 Michelin stars), Catalan cuisine would leave you wanting for more as you go along.
You also get treated to some of freshest produce and seafood from the area. Be sure to try out the local paella which the Catalonians have claimed as their original recipe for decades and is one of the quintessential dishes from all across the world.
If you think posh restaurants are where your discovery ends, you need to start visiting the nightlife. Barcelona’s nightclubs are some of the best in the country, offering an eclectic taste of drinks and partying that holds the heart of Spain.

3. Las Ramblas

Las Ramblas brings alive the long-standing tradition of Catalonian street art. With local musicians and living statues all gathering along this street, this becomes the epicenter of the most celebrated performers. You will get treated to a wide variety of music and sceneries along the road.
To make your journey more memorable, you can buy trinkets from the market, or relish some locally made waffles. This is the place to be to buy your gifts for back home and to check out the growing artistic beauty of Barcelona.

4. La Pedrera

Casa Mila is another work by Gaudi and boasts true neo-Catalonia style of architecture. Wi9th the building’s face looking like a stone quarry this would be one of the most exciting visits you will make. This is one of those Barcelona buildings that have been honored by UNESCO.
The modernist facade of the building and the added charm of the strange furnishings that are architectural marvels in their own right makes this one work of art something that you should keep in your itinerary.
