Most people turn to online dating because it is convenient. You can read more about it here. They can browse through the profiles in their free time and chat with someone they like. However, the internet can be full of people who are scammers. These people sign up for dating platforms so that they can get a lot of money from other users that are too trusting.

When it comes to online dating, one should not give out any card details or personal information, especially if they haven’t met the person that they are chatting with. In addition to this, one should not sign in a dating platform if they are unsure of what to expect.

See, not all platforms are legitimate. Some use fake profiles and grab images from the internet to lure new members in. To “communicate” with the other users, the new members need to spend a lot of money by upgrading to what they call a premium membership or subscriptions. See more about subscriptions here: http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/subscription.html.

However, the result might be they have just been scammed because the ones who are chatting them are paid contractors, and the profiles are mostly fake.

To avoid getting scammed, here are some of the red flags that one should watch out for when it comes to online dating.

Things to Watch Out For

1. Profiles are Too Good to be True

Some people spend the time to make their profiles look attractive to other singles. However, if the platform that you’re using has multiple profiles for sexy women or hunks, then it might be time for you to check them out.

2. No Offers for Free Trial

Some sites will offer you a free trial to see if you will love their platforms. Look out for those who want to get your card information and charge you with astronomical fees as they might be scammers.

3. Reviews are Mostly Negative

You want to look for reviews first before you give out your card details and upgrade to the premium membership. Most of the ones reviewing have already signed up to the site that you are trying to be a member of, and they have the first-hand experience of how it was like. You can visit dating cop reviews xmeets to have an idea of how legitimate feedback and review look like. Look for legit reviews online, and if most of them are negative, you should beware.

These are just some of the signs that you need to look out for. There are also legitimate sites, but the people signing up are scammers. Of course, not every site will ask for the federal records of their members and check if they’ve had criminal offenses in the past.

On the internet, anyone who knows how to use a computer and connect to the internet can sign up for a lot of sites. They can grab the photo of the sexiest ladies or the most macho men they can find on the search engines and say that this is what they look like.

You need to know how to spot a scammer in your first encounter. Most often, they will do the following:

1. They Flatter and Fawn Over You

You might believe that you are the luckiest person on earth as there’s this one person who has fallen over heels for you. However, beware of these kinds of people that are texting and chatting you non-stop. If their profile photos are too good to be true, you can google them using the reverse image search. Too much flattery can lead to disaster as you will find them asking for your bank accounts and credit card information the next time.

2. They Don’t Want to Meet You

Online scammers are typical people who don’t want their identities to be revealed. They don’t receive your calls, they don’t do video chats, and they don’t do meetups. Every time you open up that you want to meet and chat at your local café, they always have an excuse ready. If they start asking for gifts or favor, but they don’t even want to see you in the flesh, you should see this as a red flag and cut ties with this person. Always be safe and avoid getting scammed by investigating and researching more about platforms and people you are chatting online.
